Conditions not so good…
Took the boys to the Rondout on Sunday the 31st, we gave it two hours in the hurricane like winds. Poles were being blown over and the white caps were everywhere. So we gave up and went pond hopping, which turned out to be a good idea. The kids all caught fish (large mouth and blue gills) all were catch and release, some were pretty big! They got one largemouth bass on a 41/2″ Sawbellie left over from the reservoir; I thought that was pretty cool.. All in all ; A good day of fishing with the kids, despite the horrible conditions on the reservoir.
Oh, left out the funny part! As we were getting ready to wrap it up, my oldest son who is 15 and weighs 230 tried to step on a large piece of drift wood while reeling in his line. He did a 180 degree pirouette and went butt first into the water! That will be one of those never get tired of telling stories! I just wish we were running the camcorder at the time J
