We are going to Schroon Lake in the Adirondacks tomorrow, this trip is just for the guys and the plan is to spend about eighty percent of the time on the water. This is a rare opportunity for me to get out on the lake for three straight days and just do some fishing.

I have been fishing Schroon Lake for as long as I can remember, it was my dad’s favorite place and I guess the sheer beauty of that place has just kind of stuck with me.

My folks always stayed at Eagle Point right on the lake and I have enjoyed bringing my family there. It is one of those places that allows me forget all of my worries for a while.

Now my last two trips to Schroon Lake were not that lucrative, granted they were family trips and much of my time was spent at The Great Escape and walking through sparkling caves. Yet I did manage some Sun Fish and a couple respectable largemouth Bass.

This time we are equipped to catch fish and are going to put the time in, so I am hoping to have some nice photos on Sunday evening when I return. There are a lot of big fish in that lake and I have seen a few of them caught over the years. The Northern Pike are a formidable challenge as are the monster Bass and Lake Trout.

Well wish us luck and check back Sunday night for the follow up post.

Fish On!
